IF without a specific diet?

Current plan - 16:8 - Still eating the same food as before (but I’m a bit more aware and cautious).

I’m curious to hear successful weight loss stories (or progress) of people eating more than one meal each day.. that can also include a burger here and there!

I’ve been doing 16:8 since beginning of October 2022, so just passed 4 months.. I haven’t changed my diet whatsoever. I still eat the same foods, but I noticed as I progressed through the weeks/months I craved less and and less junk food and it became WAY easier to say no, or skip, etc… that being said I still eat lunch and supper every day and sometimes a snack if I feel like it.. I’ve lost 13lbs so far! I also haven’t even incorporated exercising yet because I was finishing up my mat leave and then returning to work (too much going on).. I’ve also been really strict with my windows though. I think in 4 months I only messed it up 2 times by choice for special occasions.

But to answer your question directly I had Burger King for lunch sooooo.. you can have a burger 😂 just be mindful and aware that if you have a larger fattier lunch take it easy at supper time.

Answer

Ultimately IF is not a magic bullet. You can’t lose weight if you consume more calories than you burn. IF helps that process by using natural bodily functions to burn more and limiting calorie intake by controlling when you eat.

That being said, you don’t need a specific diet, providing you are not being silly and say eating a large dominos pizza to yourself everyday.

I’ve lost 15lbs at this point using 18:6 IF and calorie counting. I eat whatever I want and some banging foods, burgers being one of them, I just make sure I eat them in a sensible way.

Obviously the longer you fast for in a period, the more you need to be conscious about what you are eating as it needs to sustain you untill your next meal.
