Answer

Your body can make glucose from protein and fat. You will always have a baseline glucose level. Even on a carnivore diet. I don’t follow this diet I’m just making a point that you won’t die without carbs.

Answer

I don’t think anyone has become overweight because of whole fruit, I don’t think it’s necessary to cut that out.

You can still get sugars from other carbohydrates, like starch in potatoes. Even if you cut out all carbs your body can get energy from ketones.

For weight loss there’s a lot more energy per gram in fat, so cutting out oil and fried foods will help a lot. People often point to the sugar in desserts as a problem, when in reality things like ice cream have most of their calories from fat. (Same with pizza and French fries, they get demonized for having carbs and people ignore the oil component).

Just aim to avoid processed food, stick to mostly whole foods and don’t overeat.

Answer

The answer is a process known as gluconeogenesis, where glycerol leftover when triglycerides are burned and amino acids are converted to glucose. That will provide enough glucose for the brain and red blood cells, which do require some glucose to function.

That’s how humans are able to survive fasting.

The brain also flips over to use ketones which the liver makes from fat, so it doesn’t require as much glucose.

Answer

A protein dominant diet with very little carbs and some fat I’ll cause you to go into protein synthesis, which is a process by which you body turns protein into glucose.

The fastest most effective diet for fat loss is Keto IMO. It is a high fat diet (people often underestimate how high - lots of healthy fats have to be eaten). Carbs and sugar, even in low amounts, will “knock” you out of ketosis. On keto, your body makes ketones (to fuel you/give you energy) out of the fat you are eating + your body will make ketones out of your body fat, thereby burning more fat. Fasting pairs really well with keto, but when you do eat - needs to be a lot of fat. Too much protein pushes you into protein synthesis, which is not unhealthy but less conducive to fat loss IMO

Answer

You don’t NEED carbohydrates. Your body CAN make glucose through other means (especially if you consume plenty of protein) and use fat as fuel.

I’m not saying you need or should cut out carbs, just a statement of fact. If you are consuming carbohydrates from rice, pasta, potato, etc you will produce sugar by breaking down those carbohydrates into glucose. This is more stable than sugar which is already available for the most part.

However, in terms of losing fat. Sugar doesn’t really make you fat but of course getting stable blood sugar is an extremely helpful tool that people refuse to acknowledge. Aslong as you’re in a deficit, you’ll lose fat.

Eating whole foods (with animal and plant nutrient), exercising (even just walking 20minutes, 30 minutes a day), a slight deficit, protein and plenty of water. Easy formula for weight loss and health in general.

Answer

Dietary fiber is more important than calorie count in losing weight. Almonds are high in calories, but you’re going to have a hard time over-consuming them because they fill you up fast and keep you full longer.

They’re also packed with healthy fats and protein, so they’re arguably a better option than fruit in that regard.

Answer

Your body can make sugar/ketones from fat or protein, so that’s not the problem.

But if you really want to lose weight, the simplest way is to simply consume fewer calories than you burn each day. Sure, you can follow some kind of low-carb, intermediate fasting, etc. diet, but at the end of the day it is only the calories that count and these diets mostly just have a psychological effect or simply ban certain foods that are high in calories.

But fruits generally speaking are not really that calorically dense, but are loaded with nutrients, so I personally wouldn’t stop eating them even while dieting.
