Long story short:
Unwell for 9 weeks, no eating or drinking as it produces severe pain. Trying to convince Drs something is wrong; in & out of hospital emergency, Dr gives multiple antibiotics. At end of 9wks I spend 9.5hrs on Emergency floor in unimaginable pain & bleeding out back passage constantly. Pass out, wake up in hospital bed.
Ulcerative Colitis, burst ulcer, perforated bowel.
During treatment, colonoscopy. The hospital breaks my back.
4weeks later leave hospital, dodged wheelchair but pain walking means pain killers. Kills appetite.
Its now 8weeks later & back to same; pain when eating & drinking. Living on a few mouthfuls of water a day & the odd hydrolite every other day.
I have zero interest or hunger for eating, zero interest in drinking. Any ideas on ‘re-feeding’ or getting appetite back?
Its now (total) 4mths+ of this, lost close to 30kgs (am a big lad, getting smaller).
Note: I am genetic Coeliac (didnt find out till I was 45yrs old, 3yrs ago, steer clear of gluten)
I’m sorry you’re in such bad shape. If I were in your shoes, I would eat a smoothie that I make almost every day because it’s high fat, lots of nutrients, and easy on my digestion: 1/4-1/3 can of coconut milk, one whole avocado, 2 tablespoons organic pumpkin purée, a few organic frozen strawberries, and a bit of maple syrup to add some sweetness. I use my ninja to make it into a smoothie and it’s my favorite thing ever. Good luck to you!
