Would love to hear anyone’s experiences. Thanks in advance for the replies.
I have! It didn’t work out so well. I was doing an 80/10/10 pretty strictly.
Breakfast would be steel cut oats with flaxseed, an orange, and coffee with almond or soy milk.
Lunch I was eating quinoa and beans with salsa or guacamole sometimes on a wrap with hummus.
Snack would be berries or a tbs of almond butter to get some fat.
Dinner usually the same as lunch or just some pasta or some carbs.
All the fiber wasn’t really processing in my gut I was getting about 60-80 grams a day. Maybe my transitioning was too fast. But I was pretty depressed, probably lack of b vitamins and fats and digestible proteins for where my gut was. After about 2 months I had a cheeseburger and felt great. That told me I was deficient in calories and most likely fats and proteins. I was also lifting in the gym everyday. Every time I’ve done a mostly plant based diet eventually I crack and eat a burger or pizza and I feel incredible the next morning. Also it was very carb heavy which I don’t tolerate well with bloating and digestive issues. That’s my experience, hope it goes better for you if you try it!

How well did it work for what? There’s not enough information to know what you’re asking. But generally, special diets that you cannot sustain for your whole life are not worth following for a day.
Yes. I’ve been on the starch solution for about 5 years now. I’ve maintained my weight of about 155, down from my high of 240. I’ll never go back to the standard American diet again. The bulk of my calories are from sweet potatoes, potatoes, corn, rice, beans (black, pinto, all varieties of lentils), oats, fruit, and vegetables, all types. I’m never hungry, I never weigh or portion my food. It’s easy and inexpensive. I avoid nearly all high fat foods, especially oil. I get called out, ridiculed fairly routinely, but I don’t care. I just laugh as I complete the next mile down the hiking trail. I turn 50 next year and I’m in the best condition of my entire life. I take no medications and have no chronic issues. My cholesterol was 224 back in 2012. In 2019 when I had my last lipid panel, it was 106.
The starch solution diet is fantastic for me and it’s the best self improvement decision I’ve ever made in my life.
It doesn’t matter the quantities, starch just gets me bloated and feeling unwell all the time. A few days ago I only had potatoes left and decided to boil and then roast them. They tasted good but the next morning I had diarrhea. It’s just not for me.
On the other hand I feel perfectly fine and have 0 digestive issues when it’s just meat and some vegetables.
I did it for a month.
Pro: I lost 11 pounds and loved the food.
Con: I felt very full and slightly bloated after meals but still sort of hungry. Weird sensation. I also had a LOT of gas that my family did not appreciate.
