Impromptu 3 day fast following tonsillectomy

Having surgery sucks, especially having a surgery that significantly impacts your day-to-day functions. I had to get my tonsils taken out this week so eating is extremely difficult. I’m mildly thankful that I’ve been fasting on-and-off for the past few months, because if I wasn’t used to this feeling I would be even more miserable.

At least I’ve lost about 8 pounds so far. Every cloud has a silver lining, right?

Answer

Agreed. Once one has gained some proficiency at fasting, a lot of things in life come a bit easier, like delaying gratification or staying calm during stressful times. BTW, I reached out because I actually had tonsillitis about 20 years ago and it was recommended that I have them taken out, but I was able to save them with a 10 day active fast. Did your fasting help your tonsillitis at all? Or were they so far gone it was too late? I think I caught mine just in the nick of time and I still have them to this day in my 50’s.
