Is anyone here from India? I don’t cook my dishes, we have a cook who does. I just wanted to know what’s the meal you eat before you fast to feel full for 12+ hours that falls within the Indian diet?
I’m from India, I eat a fruit, whatever made for lunch (rice, roti, subji, or q paneer burger, salad , etc) and a protein shake before fasting for 16 hours. Plus our body gets used to it in a week max. Your brain doesn’t notify hunger anymore unless it’s close to eating time.
I’m not Indian or from India, but I eat Indian food regularly and make a few dishes myself. Lentil or chick pea based dishes (e.g., dal, chana masala) are pretty filling to me. I’ll only eat a little bit of rice and naan. In the summer I grow my own okra and make bhindi masala about once a week.
I marinate a salmon filet tandoori style and pan fry it with one tablespoon of olive oil. I then pair it with spinach and half a cup of rice and some cherry tomatoes. You can add some Rajma to the rice to give it some flavor and sprinkle some coriander leaves. The whole thing is pretty filling.
