Insomnia after a fast?

I’ve lately added a single 24 hour fast day per week to my slow-carb diet regimen, and I’ve noticed something odd. At the end of my fast day, I often find it very hard to go to sleep. Is there a metabolic reason for this?

The less you eat, the less your body need sleep. There have been mystiques who at only few morsels a day and slept for 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Modern science doesn’t tell us this. Big pharma want us to be lazy.
