Insomnia on OMAD !! Help !

I need some advice. I have been doing OMAD for a week now and it has been going great. But the last two days I can’t go to sleep. I go to bed at 11 but stay up till 2 or 2:30 am in bed. I’m not even on my phone or anything.

I know it’s related to the OMAD because if I eat at 9 or 10 pm then I can sleep easy but I now eat at 5 or 6 pm. And with this new time I have insomnia.

I can’t go back to eating at 9 or 10 because it’s alot harder to go the entire day with no food. Also I eat enough, only 300 below TDE and I’m not hungry when I can’t sleep.

Any advice ??

Answer

Two things really helped me with my awful insomnia while fasting:

  1. exercising before bed (even a long walk really helps)

  2. magnesium before bed.

I’m not a huge fan of melatonin because people can become dependent, but those two things also really help. On top of that, make sure you’re drinking water! Don’t guzzle it before bed otherwise you’ll have to pee, but oddly staying hydrated through the day has shown some links with easing insomnia.

There’s other things, but I’d try those two first.
