Answer

According to Jason Fung, Fasting can get you to where you no longer need insulin.

The concern is carefully balancing of medication with the fasting, as the numbers can go from too high to too low, as the medication and fasting work together. So you’d need to be careful and work with doctor.

Answer

Do you have a constant glucose monitor? If not, you should ask your doctor to prescribe you one. Wear it for a month or two. It will give you incredible insight into your blood sugars and how food and sleep affect it.

For me, if I eat within 6 hours of going to bed, my glucose will be 20 points higher all night long than if j ate early in the day. And it doesn’t matter what I eat - any substantive meal too late in the day will keep my BG up for hours and hours. I can only really learn that with a constant glucose monitor.
