I’ve tried fasting and have been successful, but I like to eat early with my wife on weekends. Am I ruining the benefits by fasting only 5-days a week?
I used to combat this by doing a shorter fast on the weekends, literally whatever timeframe I could fit in even if it wasn’t consistent; and then also doing longer fasts 20-36 hours before the weekend depending on what I knew I was doing. I did a 48hr fast before a big weekend at a BBQ fest, and skipped the first few meals of the day, and it didn’t really impact my flow!
In my experience, no. Meal time is important social time that I think vital for “work-life balance” so to speak. Now if you’re downing a bunch of unhealthy food or whatever case may be, it’s going to not help your goal(obviously).
Enjoy the little things like breakfast with your wife on a quiet Saturday morning.
I find depriving yourself of life events like these makes things difficult. Flexibility is key.
