Everyone talks about sodium, potassium and magnesium while fasting/Keto. What about iodine. Does anyone supplement with iodine?
Americans can get plenty of iodine from iodized salt, but it is not an electrolyte. Generally we have plenty of iodine stored in the thyroid for a very very long time, that it isn’t an issue for most fasts.
We don’t have iodized salt in Japan, but I eat plenty of seaweed in miso soup on my non-fasts day which has more than enough iodine for a month.
