Answer

One serving of nuts is a quarter cup I believe and you’re eating more than that. If this fits in your calorie goals as an active person, then eat them. Just keep in mind that one cup of almonds is 529 calories.

Answer

Yes. Nuts are a fantastic snack option! They’re packed with protein, healthy fats, and fiber!

Generally, it’s best to opt for the low sodium and unsweetened products (e.g. honey roasted, chocolate-covered, etc.).

One caveat, however - because of the high selenium content of Brazil nuts, it’s best to limit this nut to 1-3 Brazil nuts per *day

Edit: corrected from saying “week”

I sometimes eat up to 2 cups a day of mixed walnuts, pecans, and hazel nuts in the winter. In the summer, I opt for tropical or desert nuts like cashews, pistachios, and macadamias (even coconut). Almonds grow in California’s 70 degree year round weather, so they’re versatile to eat during summer and winter. The same goes for brazil nuts. I’m not a doctor, but I’d recommend eating the right nuts for the weather you’re in. As long as you’re limiting other sources of fats (especially animals), you’ll be fine eating 1 cup of nuts a day. Calories from nuts will be much healthier than a majority of other possible snack options. They also pack protein. The only negative side effect you could notice is weight gain. Usually, weight gained from nuts is the weight that you’d want being a gym goer.
