I got downvoted in the running Reddit community and asked to move it here. All I did was ask if anyone had any tips regarding fasting and running. I had never fasted but had already been running and working out at a calorie deficit so I wanted to see what happens when I fast for a week and try to do my regular run workouts. I’ve been at it for about 4 days with only one run workout and I feel fine sticking to water with a hydration mix and coffee. Clearly, this isn’t something I plan to do for a long extent of time but for those that fast and still do their workouts I would like to hear from you.
I’ve tried it before, and it definitely does not work well if doing extended fasting. If you’re only doing IF then it’s not a problem. I could only run at 80% capacity at best, and I had killer hunger pains for several hours afterward.
