I Never liked hot sauce growing up but recently on my protein kick I’ve been eating a lot of scrambled eggs for breakfast and someone told me to add Cholula sauce on top. I did. And now I’m obsessed. Considering that I’m trying to obtain a more nutrient dense diet for my active lifestyle, I want to limit this hot sauce if it’s not good for my body. I hear a lot of dressings, like salad dressing, can be really high in sodium’s and sugars and not be as good of an addition to your salad compared to maybe a light vinaigrette…
I just want to know if anyone knows of potential health benefits or lack thereof before I buy a whole bottle lmao
No carbohydrates. Capsaicin shown to boost metabolism as well as suppress appetite a bit. DCT might help burn more calories. Yes, on extra salt. There are low sodium alternatives just make sure no sugar.
Congrats on obtaining a more nutrient dense diet! I’ll only chime in with my personal preference to limit to amount of foods I eat with preservatives. Not sure if Cholula has sodium benzoate or other preservatives but I’ve switched to making my own hot sauce with is super easy and cheap. Good luck!
