Is consuming the same type of fiber daily harmful?

Recently came across an article on Healthline about fiber, pretty in-depth, but there is one paragraph in which they say you should “avoid taking the same fiber supplement” everyday, because it can both reduce the effect and harm your gut bacteria.

Not taking any supplements per se, in terms of pills, but am consuming a good portion of the same types of fiber every day at breakfast (chia seeds and/or mixed nuts, etc) with extreme consistency. Does this need to be varied/have break days, or since they’re whole foods is this problem avoided?

Answer

I take over 30g of fiber supplements (soluble and insoluble) daily. I’m searching for anything for anything that says that shouldn’t be done but I am only finding the opposite information.

From one article:

“There’s no evidence that daily use of fiber supplements — such as psyllium (Metamucil, Konsyl, others) or methylcellulose (Citrucel) — is harmful.”
