There seems to be recent research on the importance of diversity of fiber particularly in terms of benefits to the gut microbiome. It sounds like even a small amount of diverse (30+) FV fiber, for example, seems to have powerful positive heath effects. Is there research comparing small amount of diverse of fiber intake to just the RDA of fiber?
I don’t know the answer but did a search and this is a very interesting topic. I would assume even a small amount of diversity would allow different gut bacteria to thrive leading to better health. I’ve heard you should “Eat the Rainbow”, try to eat foods of various color to diversify your diet and this is just even more why you should.
