Is extended fast bad for people my age?

I’m a 21M and I started doing a couple extended fast to try to help with some chronic issues. I’ve only gone as far as 2 days. I’m aiming for 3-4 this time to see if it makes a bigger difference or even fully cures it. After reading some post on here, people have said extended fasting is not good at my age because the brain is not fully developed yet. I’m questioning this because fasting promotes production of new brain cells and autophagy, which is essential for getting rid of bad ones. If anyone has some insight or an opinion on this, I would greatly appreciate you sharing your perspective. Also, share some other things I should worry about at my age with extended fasting if there is any.

Answer

I’m not a medical professional so don’t take my opinion too seriously. I think it should be ok. I’m 19 and planning to do a 11 day fast. I have done 8 days before and it’s gone well. It depends on your starting weight.
