The problem is that your body will likely register it as food and respond with insulin. So it’s not so much whether the drink has calories or sugar, it’s whether your body thinks it does. The insulin spikes can also cause shakiness or dizziness, so if you find you are experiencing those symptoms it may be best to replace it with plain or sparkling water.
