Is ground turkey still a better option than ground beef even if calorie and fat content is similar?

To my knowledge, red meat should me somewhat limited and other sources of protein like chicken, turkey, fish are considered better. But if the calorie-fat content is kinda similar, is the turkey still the better/healthier* option?

I realized 4 oz of ground turkey (Carolina brand) are 230 kcal and 17 gr of fat and 4 oz of 82% lean meat is 216 kcal and 19.3 gr of fat. They look very similar to me.

* I am aware “better” and “healthier” are relative terms, but in the general scheme of things- between the two options, which one would be the best choice to consume more regularly?

Answer

I would actually consider 100% grass fed ground beef, even non lean 85/15 options to be healthier than conventionally raised ground turkey no matter the leaner mixes. Grass-fed ground beef will have a better omega 3:6 ratio, healthier fats, higher in micronutrients.
