Alcohol is basically a poison and the body will do everything to get rid of it. That means, as long it is not completely metabolized, it is priority one and muscle building is slowed down. So what I do is no drinking within ~24-48 hrs after a workout. Also helps me to limit alcohol ingestion in general.. man I love cocktails so much :D

Answer

You know, I was gonna say alcohol nukes your gainz, but the studies I combed through before this answer actually gave me mixed results. Alcohol is definitely not good for gains though, it pretty much only negatively impacts your hormonal levels and muscle hypertrophy, but if you’re gonna drink, I’d say it doesn’t matter what day if you’re on a standard workout schedule just because you’re always going through an elevated level of myoprotein synthesis. If you do the five day a week split, maybe Sunday evening is best. Try not to let alcohol affect your sleep, and also don’t drink too much, that’s where you have to draw the line. Sleep is much more detrimental, also larger consumptions of alcohol. So I’d say rather than worrying about the hebdomadal consumption of alcohol, you should worry about quantity and time of day.

Answer

Drink in moderation and make sure you’re well hydrated and drinking water while you’re drinking. as for the science behind the best time to drink? There isn’t any that I am aware of. But binge drinking is very harmful to your body, so make sure on the days you do drink you are not doing so in excess.

Answer

Study’s show that even a couple of drinks will make your body regress. In my experience, I don’t care. I do what makes me feel good in the moment but let’s not act like there’s no consequences for what yu do especially when it’s consistent

Answer

I’d wait till the hangover is all gone and I’m hydrated again. I personally struggle with hydration on a good day, even when I’m not recovering from alcohol.

Answer

Research says 2 drinks in your system makes your muscle protein synthesis reduce to 30%. And if you protein load, it can reduce instead to about 50%. So ideally you’d avoid drinking the day after lifting but most lifters are lifting 5-6x a week so
