Very common. I think it’s excessive…adrenaline?Something about how an adrenaline primed and fasted version of our primitive selves would benefit from the mental acuity just in case there happened to be an animal in your area.

I am on this subreddit right now because i’m experiencing this!! I was on my 27th hour of fasting, and I’ve previously done a 72 hour one. I woke up after 3 hours of sleep and had a rapid heart rate and felt discomfort. It freaked me out, and so I drank water- didn’t help and felt worse. Tried to calm myself down for 20 minutes, didn’t work and I started to feel hot even though it is really cold.

And so I ended up breaking my fast early like 20 minutes ago, having soup and toast with jam.

It’s now been almost an hour since I woke up and I feel much better. Anyone else understand this?

Answer

When I was first doing longer fast this always happened on the second or third night. Instead of crashing after dinner with food in me it felt like my energy was high and consistent until one or two in the morning even after a long day at work. I always went to bed naturally early the next day or so though. It balances out if you are consistently fasting and I sleep better than ever now.

the late fasting EXPERT herbert shelton said some thing like the energy it takes to digest a meal is the same amount of energy it takes to work an 8 hour day . as in it takes energy from , imo / hypothosis , the soul (which runs on a star light charge [again hypothosizing] we absorb as spirits out in the stars between body spans before reincarnating ) to make the heart beat more to make the intestines squeeze the solid foods through it . then takes the liver working to draw out contents from the intestines through itself then into blood stream then heart where its then pumped through our blood vessels . this invisible process cost us energy , its why people get sleepy after big meals . and why animals fast when theyre injured as their instincts know the extra energy shall help them grow new cells quicker to heal their wounds (im just relaying what old time fasting knowledgable people like shelton believed) . and needing less sleep on a fast because were not having to expend energyon the digestive process is very common and on my initial fasts it bugged heck outta me because i could only sleep like 3 hours then rolled in bed til work . then i learned get up and do house work or whatever instead of laying in bed awake , and i found out that i felt the same wether rolling in bed til work or getting up and doing chores so might as well get up and do stuff . and back a decade ago i regularily fasted with a group of near 10 folk and we all had the same occurence
