Is it okay to ask meal advice and general eating habits here?

I’ve really loved this sub for fasting advice, was wondering of anyone had any advice for healthy vegetarian meals? I’m trying to heal my intestines, not trying to lose weight. I just started doing mostly vegetarian last week and was really surprised that it was pretty easy to find enough protein, and that I probably shouldn’t eat as much of the heavier plant proteins as I can meat. :’D

My next challenge - I’ve been eating probably all the wrong carbs - gluten free cake, soymilk, bananas, more bananas, lots of potatoes, etc. I know I’m going to be eating more carbs as the whole point is that I’m having difficulty digesting meat and oils, but I don’t want to start having the opposite problem where I’m overeating unhealthy carbs. Does anyone have a really satisfying but healthy carbohydrate that they use as a standby? For reference, I’m allergic to wheat, dairy, apples, peaches, carrots. I’ve also started snacking frequently which you all know is probably not the best. I feel like if I could afford things like fresh coconuts and watermelon and all the tropical fruit, that’s what my body wants most…. but I’m poor and it’s winter. :/

Do you have a giant grocery store in your area? I hate to be an advertisement but there’s an app called flashfoods that puts up discount produce and foods, it’s very cheap and you can occasionally get 10lbs of produce for $5. It helps me get enough fruits and veggies in my diet as a vegetarian.

As for carbs, have you ever seen the chickpea or lentil pastas they have out now? I really like the chickpea one, it’s got lots of protien and the same amount of carbs as wheat pasta. They have it in the Barilla brand and a few store brands too. Depends on where you are.

Rice, lentils and beans are healthy and super cheap if you’re willing to buy them dried not canned. Lentils are very satiating to me.
