Is it possible to still lose weight doing 16:8 while not drastically changing your diet ?

Hi, I’m new to this, and started 16:8 this week, feeling really good, I’ve cut dairy out of my coffee and having my first meal each day around 1/2pm I go to bed early so I’m probably fast bit longer than 16 hours. My question is has anyone successfully lose weight without making drastic changes to their diet ? I wouldnt say I eat badly at all but I work full time and have two kids under 4 so half the time I’m exhausted I don’t really want to cut carbs drastically cause I’m cooking for my family and I don’t have time or energy to cook seperate dinners.

Answer

Yes. Though what constitutes a drastic change is a bit subjective, but I’ve made great progress without any specific restrictions. I still eat all the same things I did before, but just less, more infrequent, etc as needed for certain things.

I was also a pretty bad snacker, so even just cutting a meal and having the structure of IF to help control my snacking was was a major difference for me.

Answer

Yes, I lost 30 lb in six months without changing my diet although I always ate fairly healthy. I plateaued about 20 lb from my goal weight and now I am finding it necessary to be more mindful to keep losing.

All these replies are so encouraging. This is what I’m doing too. 16:8 without huge restrictions - makes it easier to stick to the fasting that way, for me. I don’t eat horribly anyway, and this is making me a bit more mindful. Haven’t really lost weight in the first 10 days but going to stick with it for longer, as I just have 5kg to lose so maybe this takes longer. Right now I’d be thrilled with a 3kg loss. I’m finding it has cut my night time snacking, so that’s a real plus. Good luck!
