You’d really need to include your height for context, but I think that goal is a bit too aggressive. Generally people aim to lose 1-2 pounds per week, so we can do some napkin math using 1.5 pounds lost per week as the average. 8 months is essentially 32 weeks * 1.5 pounds lost per week = 48 pounds lost.
Taking into account the possibility of plateaus, setbacks from the holidays, and the way weight loss can vary from person to person, I think somewhere between 35 and 55 pounds would be more realistic.
I went from 305 down to 219 (today) since the first of August, so losing 75lbs in 8 months is achievable. The real questions though is how serious are you at meeting it?
To meet this, some sacrifices will be needed, like maintain OMAD and longer periodic fasts, no sugar nor carbs and a fair amount of light exercise (in my case 10K+ daily walks).
Good luck.
Possible? Yes. Reasonable? Nope.
Your DAILY caloric deficit will have to be extreme (roughly 1,300 calories to begin) and, as you begin to lose, you’ll have to get even more aggressive cutting calories.
Not to say you can’t get there - but you are likely setting yourself up for failure…
I’ve lost 22.2 lbs in 3 months, I’m 5’6” and my starting weight was 194 lbs… Ymmv, but it sounds a little extreme, if you ask me.
Edit: you probably can, but the biggest issue is sustainability long term… What’s gonna happen with your habits in May when you reach your goal, are you planning to going to your old habits? Also, think about the mental toll of weight loss. I don’t think that gets talked enough, the mind also needs time to adapt to the change.
That is pretty aggressive but then again it is not just weight you want to look at. Its also body composition. If you start lifting weights and gain some muscle while losing bf at the same time, then you might not see much in the way of pounds dropped but you might notice that you look better. They way your clothes fit is always a good indicator. Good luck.
Go keto for a month or so and then go carnivore — make sure you eat a lot, don’t be cutting calories like everyone thinks. Again, eat a lot, and do resistance training. I think that would be your best bet in hitting your goal while also being a lifestyle that is actually sustainable after you get to your goal.
