Is it safe to go directly from a dry fast into a water fast?

Or vice versa?

I think I read somewhere that it might be dangerous for the human body. So, if we start a dry fast, it should remain a dry fast until you end it. Or if it’s a water fast, it should remain a water fast, until you end it. But you should never mix the two fasts.

Am I right about this?

Answer

I think it is pretty common to go from a dry fast into a water fast. The other way around (water to dry) is considered a bit riskier. The idea is you will lose electrolytes during a water fast so you may not have enough to feel optimal during a dry fast. If your electrolytes are too low it can be dangerous.

Can you replenish electrolytes before going into a dry fast? Probably, but I don’t know for sure. Maybe somebody else who knows more can share.
