Is it unnecessary to have baking soda before starting a dry fast? And if yes, then how much?

Hello. I am planning on 2 rolling dry fasts of one week each, with refeeding for a day in the middle. Would it be necessary to supplement with baking soda before starting the fasts? If yes, then how much?

Also, what would be the best food to break the fast after 1 week?

After these 2 weeks, I am planning on doing an extended water fast of 21 to 40 days. I want to reduce my weight from obese to normal.

Thank you so much for the tips.

Answer

I don’t think it’s necessary before the dry fast but until after the dry fast is when it’s helpful. You don’t lose electrolytes when dry fasting like you do water fasting and the baking soda can really help your kidneys after a long dry fast so yeah after the dry fast
