Is it worth it doing IF 3 days a week?

I’m considering doing IF (16/8), but due to my lifestyle (gym/work/personal commitments) I wouldn’t be able to do it every day. I would mainly be doing it for overall health benefits, not specifically for fat loss. Will I still be able to reap the benefits when I’m only doing IF for 3 days a week?

The only way to know is“just do it” #nike lol.. maybe 3 day IF is the gateway for you to extend into 4-5-6-7 day IF.. experiment, track, and adapt to your lifestyle. Maybe you feel better, so you keep doing it. Or you feel no difference which is insightful as well. Just try it for a month and log your results, if you can track it you can manage it.

There isn’t much downside to 16:8, so I’d say go for it. The benefits will probably be limited, but it will give you some experience with IF.

Note that working out while fasted is fine, so the gym shouldn’t really interfere. As for work, you might find skipping breakfast is actually more convenient. Just something to consider.

This is something similar to what I’m considering. I eat only in the morning for metabolic health benefits but my girlfriend misses us cooking and eating dinner together.

I think maybe pulling back a bit and doing it a few days a week will be better than nothing at all.

You could also throw in a 2 or 3 day fast every few weeks as well for some benefits to make up on the days you haven’t been doing it.
