Is it worth it to do intermittent fasting solely for nice skin? Are there really obvious benefits?

I know one of the reasons IF is done is to restrict calories since you’re eating less meals in a smaller eating window, but I find that I still eat the same amount of calories in the smaller window. Hence, doing IF for the purpose of restricting calories is not as useful for me since I’m not eating less calories.

BUT if it really does improve the skin and acne, then I’ll do it anyway. I’ve read that autophagy from IF will clear up skin and helps get rid of acne - can anyone share their experiences?

I will def do it for clear skin lol.

Answer

It depends on the cause of your acne. Diet plays a large part in acne for some people but diet is not the sole cause of acne. Hormones are the biggest factor and external causes are the second (like skincare routine, touching your face, dirty pillowcase/phone, etc).

I found that my eczema got much better with IF. Eczema is an immune problem though. My random period acne still shows up as usual.
