High methionine foods include turkey, beef, fish, pork, tofu, milk, cheese, nuts, beans, and whole grains like quinoa
Is this because their high in protein or because or reasons?
Lentils are famously low in methionine, it’s considered their “drawback” nutritionally, but personally I’ve began to suspect low methionine content could be positive, since it essentially lets you eat a low protein diet (if you want) without having to cut most amino acids.
Animal protein (usually) have a more complete amino acid profile, so they’ll have plenty of all amino acids, including methionine.
