In the States, there’s pasteurized process cheese, pasteurized blended cheese, pasteurized process cheese food, and pasteurized process cheese spread, plus other forms of processed cheese. But I’m not sure they’re akin to “processed meat” in the way you’re asking. Can you explain what you mean?
I’m not being catty, but have you just plain googled processed cheese? I know results are regional, but for me it shows a range of products that contain some dairy and are held together with emulsifiers and corn starch.
yes, most fast food restaurants use cheese that contains soy (which i found out the hard way, being allergic to soy) and other commercial cheese may have flour in it, other thickeners and preservatives, not to mention things like cheese whiz, velveeta, whatever is in macncheese … it’s gross and scary
