I have researched this. Killer Dave’s Powerseed is #1, it has only 1 gm of sugar per slice. Sweetened only w/ fruit juice. Killer Dave’s Goodseed is #2, has more sugar, 5 gms per slice (I’m not talking about the thin sliced). Real sugar. I eat the Goodseed cuz the powerseed has no taste, IMO.

Ezekiel is probably the best. I have yet to find another bread that has no added sweeteners or oils, even at my local health food stores. Keep it in the fridge and it’ll stay good for a few weeks.

I can’t speak for everywhere, but Trader Joe’s has it for the best price in my area. It’s less than half as much at my Trader Joe’s than it is at any other store.

I think Ezekiel is supposed to be the healthiest grocery store option, but I like Dave’s Killer Bread better personally and it’s also pretty healthy. But at the end of the day, the problem with bread is how much we rely on it. If you buy whatever bread you enjoy but don’t treat it like a main food group, that might be the healthier option.

I’m pretty sure it’s only available in Canada, but Stonemill brand bread seems to be quite healthy. No preservatives, whole grains, naturally fermented, short ingredient list and tasty AF. I really like the green bag (sprouted 3 grains), but they’re all pretty good.

We like the Rudolph’s Multigrain bread…..it is made with quality ingredients and doesn’t have things like bleached flour or added sugar….and all the slices are big, so it is good for sandwiches….

The ones with the shortest ingredient list/only ingredients you recognize are the best bet when it comes to being healthy. Dave’s Killer Bread as already mentioned is a good one with a long ingredient list, but they’re all recognizable whole food ingredients. Real sourdough bread (the list should have sourdough starter or simply flour, water & salt and never vinegar or yeast) is also a good choice when you can find it. Sumano’s Watsonville Sourdough is my favorite!
