During my longer periods of fasting, it helps me to remind myself that I’m not trying to harm myself. With that said, if I ever started to feel dizzy or faint then I would absolutely eat something.

I never arrived at that point.

I’ve heard of others following these guidelines without harming themselves.

Keep in mind that there may be people out there that followed this rule, and died. Lol. I’m not a doctor, so take it with a grain of salt.

If you’re fasting for under 24 hours, you will be fine. Your brain is sending you hunger cues because you likely aren’t fat-adapted yet, but you don’t need to worry.

If you’re fasting 3-5 days or longer, IMO it’ll be pretty clear when it happens. For me, a “craving” is when I want a specific kind of food, like junk food or sugar, but if I think about bland food I’m uninterested. Real hunger is when you want food of any kind. And of course, if you start to feel unwell, stop fasting! It’s not meant to be torture, it should feel good/natural to fast and feast. It just takes some time to get used to. :)

Once you pass the fatique and dizziness stage, there is something called a starvation high. It is the next level of blissfulness. I’ve been there multiple time. Look into it and be safe. If you don’t think you can handle it then please eat.

I’ve done rolling 72’s to lead into a 7-day fast. At day 6 I should’ve probably ate something, as I slept only 1 hour and had the chills. Pushed it for one more day and felt like absolute shit before having that cup of bone broth
