Hey all, I’ve done up to five day fasts, and I’m wondering if in long term fasts there’s a point at which the whole thing becomes easy. I’m planning on doing a 10 day fast in February. Also should I ease into it diet-wise in the end of January? I’m a vegetarian for context.
I find day 5 is when the headaches are ending. Bc I fast so much, I don’t tend to get dizzy, light-headed or too restless to sleep so I feel a bit lucky but also my body knows the routine.
I’ve also been an on/off again vegetarian. I fast for gut health, I have a very angry and brutal stomach and meat is my enemy. During Covid I gained 20 lbs and I decided for 2023 I need to get healthy again so I’m going back to veg, it’s been 5 years and I’m ready.
I’m currently on day 7 and it’s so easy now that I’m extending. I hope that gives you a little hope, the very worst part is starting so I wish you lots of luck!!
I feel that the days get easier when you weigh yourself 1-2 times daily and keep yourself busy from morning til bed time.
That’s what I’ve done before to stay steady on my five day fast in the past to lose 25 lbs. Now I can do this again with more success to keep it off later on this week
It’s definitely gotten easy for me since I started fasting more often. I do still give in for various reasons. And sometimes I still have trouble with electrolytes, but it’s gers easier over time. Usually after day 2-3
Day 3 is usually the breakthrough for me. At that point hunger stops being a need and becomes a background suggestion. I liken it to sore muscles after a good gym session. You know the hunger is there, but it doesn’t demand your attention anymore.
