Is there anything wrong with microwaving a baked potatoes vs using an oven?

From what I’ve researched it seems like science isn’t against microwaves but I’ve also seen claims that microwaving is bad for nutrients. What’s your take?

Answer

Microwaves affecting nutrition is a myth. If anything, microwaving helps retain more nutrients because it is a faster cooking method that uses less water. It just doesn’t always taste as good because of the process.

Microwaving is perfectly healthy, the only risks with microwaves are if you burn yourself due to the unequal heating from inside to our, so just be aware.

A great tip is to microwave until basically done, then pan fry or broil (or air fry) quickly to finish. Quick and still gets some enjoyable crisp.
