Is there much studies done on water intake distribution?

It seems the general consensus is that a decent water intake is beneficial in a lot of ways.

Is there much research done on the distribution of intake throughout the day, does it matter if 90% of my intake is late at night or else early in the morning?

Answer

Water is a vital nutrient of the human body and its physiological functions. Fluid intake (FI) occurs via the consumption of water and various other fluids (e.g. water rich foods, hot beverages). The recommended total fluid (drinking water, beverages, and fluid from foods) intake is 3.7 L/day for males and 2.7 L/day for females. It’s suggested to have a glass of water soon after waking up and with every meal throughout the day. Adhering to this pattern can greatly improve digestion, blood pressure, cognition and sleep amongst other benefits.
