Is this a side effect?

I just started IF a few days ago. I cried last night and I feel like crying today. Is this a hormone/glucose side effect? I don’t usually feel these waves of tearfulness, just started. Is this a coincidence or something that can happen with IF?

Eating, for many of us, is psychological. I know I ate therapeutically, which is just unhealthy. Anyway, perhaps the emotional response is due to a kind of “post-partum” with food/snacking? I know when I feel hungry, I get depressed. I have shifted my mindset to when I feel hungry during my fasting times, I’ve learned I’m just “brain” hungry or “emotional” hungry. And actually, I learned it was mostly because I was simply thirsty! I forget to hydrate often. So I’ll drink water, no-cal tea, coffee, etc. After a few minutes, I feel better.

That’s helpful. Thank you…. could be “hangry”….. it started when I was going to sleep last and then again this morning/right now. My eating window starts in about 40 mins so i’ll track my mood after I eat.
