Fast for a week, break it, then fast again another week.. Then again and again.
It really depends on how you break your fast…you regain body fat a lot faster than rebuild your “structural protein” reserves…so if you’re constantly dropping and regaining body fat while slowly depleting your body’s protein reserves through these on/off cycles, you could be doing yourself a huge disservice…another issue with this is that you’re also interrupting the protein sparing effect of fasting that becomes more and more effective as the fast progresses…I could go into a lot more details on this, but let me just say that if you’re going to do it this way, at least break your fasts with PSMF (aka “muscle sparing fasting”) or at least with a diet that will only break your fast, but allow you to stay in ketosis.
