Are you supposed to eat all your calories in one sitting or even less than what you need? For example, to lose weight I am recommended to eat 1400 calories, but my question is, with fasting would I eat all those calories in the time window or bring it down to say 800? Would I still lose weight if I ate 1400 calories and fasted?
To lose weight you still need to eat under your maintenance. So if you’re losing weight on 1,400 you’d just eat that 1,400 spread through your eating window, which could be a few hours or one big meal.
Note that it is generally not recommended to go below 1,200 a day.
i am a little unsure so let me ask u.
what kind of IF do u plan to do. we all fast so u won’t be doing anything new. what you will be doing is going back to how our parents and grandparents used to eat that’s all. what that means is 3 meals and NO snacks! now you can do 2 things
eat in a 12 hour or however amount of time you want to eat at. the rest of the time you don’t eat. i have found evenings are the hardest to Control my hunger pangs because I was a habitual bored snacker in the evenings. so i chose to fast from 6pm to noon. i’d be sleeping most of that and my will power dealt with hunger pangs in the morning better.
So depending on how many meals you eat you break up the 1400 into the meals. If you are not a large eater I would not eat 1400 in one sitting. Because you’re stretching out your stomach which would make you even more hungry.
i did. the math first. for the weight i wanted to be i had to consume 1200 to stay at that weight. so i started consuming 1200 in 3 meals. however i could not achieve so less in 3 meals. so i cut down to 2 meals.
If you eat 800 calories your body may consider you are in starvation and use less energy. It also depends on what you eat. Things like vegetables are not absorbed as much as meats which on the other hand not absorbed as much as things with lots of carbs like bread and rice.
