I don’t love the app because it sorta just seems like a timer, but I’m new to IF so just seeing what pointers y’all might have. I’m doing 16:8.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of those apps, kinda feels like tracking calories/macros on MyFitnessPal which is mind numbing and discouraging.
I’m also on 16:8 and I just get into the mindset that I can only eat 2 meals a day. I’m male, 5’11”, 230lbs, and workout regularly so I try to eat at least 2000 calories a day (ik I just bashed MyFitnessPal but you can use that app to ascertain how many calories you should be eating based on you parameters).
Getting used to the eating/fasting windows is the easy part, not being hungry/wanting to eat when you shouldn’t be eating is the difficult part and knowing how many calories you need in a day is a huge help physically and psychologically.
Also, instead of using a timer, find a routine that works for you. I start work early in the day so I wake up, shower, grab a coffee and immediately start working so I only worry about eating when lunchtime/my eating window begins. Get comfortable with that routine and after a couple of days you won’t even think about it, you’ll just know when it’s time to start eating and when it’s time to stop.
Btw, welcome to the IF crew, stick with it and I promise you’ll see results.
