Keto and intermittent fasting cause keto rash?

I’ve been on keto for 4 months now and I’m feeling great and just love how much energy I have on this diet. Since a week or two I’ve added intermittent fasting, 16/8, to see what it would do to my body. I still feel great but a few days ago I started developing a rash which I’ve learned now is a keto rash. I’m absolutely sure it’s keto rash bc I ruled out everything else and it looks and feels exactly like keto rash… Does this mean keto + IF is just too much for me? Anyone been through the same or have any advice? Really unsure what to do now.

Answer

If that rash was caused by too much time spent in ketosis, then it’ll improve if you don’t do intermittent fasting anymore, for a while until it heals.

If there’s another cause, then idk if you can find out why and change your diet to make that rash go away.

Maybe take it a bit easier with intermittent fasting, or add some complex carbs to your diet, to not stay in ketosis so long.

I’d vote for the carbs. Not simple ones like sugar, complex ones, from rice for example.
