kidney hurt after 1 day of water fasting

I broke my 1.5 day dry fast with coca cola and fried chicken - but then later on I had this 1 second sharp kidney pain - is this because I didn’t drink water instead of coke or did I dry fast for too long?

Why are you even asking this question? You know we’re all just going to tell you it was idiotic to drink cola to break your fast. I think it’s gross to drink cola any time, but especially when your body is asking for water. I hope you learned a lesson, break your fast with water next time and if you still get pain, then I think it’s appropriate to ask this sort of thing. PS if you switch to unsweetened soda water (like la croix) you’re going to see a huge benefit in the health department. You’ll get some bubbles and some flavor and over time you won’t miss cola one bit.

Dry fasting is completely safe for at least eleven days. I recently completed a five day dry fast, drank water and freshly squeezed juice to break it, and everything was completely fine, no pain at all.

It’s not surprising that you felt that pain I guess, that’s what you get for eating and drinking crap, especially after a fast when your body wants water and something healthy. You have only yourself to blame, so be more careful next time.

Answer

Broke a dry fast with Popeyes spicy chicken, sweet tea, popcorn shrimp, red beans & rice, and a few other items.

Mostly just got bubble guts, but haven’t experienced anything negative after fasts.
