Lifting during 72 hour dry fast

I’m beginning a 72 hour dry fast. It won’t be my first, but the first I’m doing while also having been strength training. I’m worried about losing muscle mass, and also I just hate sitting around not doing anything. I’m aware that not much muscle is supposedly lost, but I’d still feel better providing some resistance at least during day 1&2. Lower intensity, lower reps, focusing on form. Couldn’t hurt?

Or should I avoid it? I think I’m around 15% BF so I still have quite a bit of fat to burn, as that probably makes a difference in when muscle catabolism starts.

Answer

You can still exercise just take it real slow. You’ll have to find that fine edge through experience. You can still do stuff but if you’re new at it it’ll take a long time to get used to. For anyone reading, fasting is a very rewarding process but the rewards take discipline to realize.
