Answer

If you crave dark chocolate its because your chocolate plasma levels are dangerously low. This is not something to play around with. Eat dark chocolate immediately. And not some Hershey’s bullshit either.

Answer

It would seem more likely that food cravings are more psychological in nature than purely deficiency. That’s not to say that a deficiency might not make cravings but that it’s far more likely that one craving a particular food is from stress or psychological need. A feeling of deprivation rather than actual food or nutrient deprivation. Fat is an important nutrient and its role in diet has been in flux and there may be some genetic factors at play. Advice varies but 20-40 % seems to be the range of fat in the diet. So it possible that some people may not have been consuming enough in the past years.

Forgot to search this sub. Interesting results:

While that is indeed what I was looking for, it seems the jury is still out on how true this is.

Answer

The nutrition label on food should give you that.

When you crave a food, if it’s not an emotional escape mechanism, then the deficiency is something that’s in that food.

So nutrition labels will do the trick. Unfortunately they’re not very complete.

Answer

brain prefers salty, greasy, sweet foods

they were rare but important source of foods for survival

since we can eat what we want nowadays the primal instincts we have are bad for us and we shuld not listen to our feelings

eat smarter without following feelings/instincts in short

animals are same like us. if animals wuld have access to as much food as they wanted then they wuld be so fat they wuld be rolling on the ground…at least better humans can control themselves by will/discipline

if u re looking for the best diet then make 1 in cronometer with gold membership or go to the free cronometer forum and ask a tailored diet or follow a general diet sy made and uploaded/shared online. only daily dosage of micronutrients matter, rest are just min-maxing for efficiency so less nutrients wuld be wasted while digesting which wuld mean less hunger, less fat, less poop in short. only open minded people are open to the truth ‘cos there is a lot of misinformation in society about food and healthy diets. for most people who have no health issues, for longevity the best diet is mostly a vegan diet in the long run

Answer

i find the idea that we need to eat fat to absorb fat soluble vitamins suspicious to be honest.

according to this study

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25441954/

a meal with fat only increased plasma vitamin d3 by 32%. thats compared to a fat free meal.

if your body is lacking vitamin a, it wouldnt make sense to make you crave fat. you should be eating carrots. if you lack vitamin k, you should be eating green vegetables. vitamin d is from sun exposure. vitamin e is found in nuts and seeds so maybe during a vitamin e deficiency, your body craving fat might be useful to make you serendipitously eat vitamin e containing nuts or seeds.
