Living off one a day men’s?

So I’ve thought about this since I was a kid. Looking at one a day men’s vitamins, it has pretty much all of the vitamins and minerals you would need throughout the day. This leaves just a few things like calories, protein, and carbs left out of the picture. Could a human simply take a one a day men’s every day, and then eat nothing but meat and bread all day? Wouldn’t they technically be able to satisfy all of their body’s nutritional needs? I’ve always been super curious about this and would love to know an answer.

Answer

Synthetic multivitamins in no way compensate for a proper and nutrient dense diet. The nuances of how vitamins and minerals are absorbed is also key, just because you take a multivitamin, does not mean you’re actually absorbing anywhere near 100% of what is inside it. Not eating varied foods including plants means you are also missing important antioxidants and beneficial phenols and other compounds.

Lol I may have done this for like a year as an idiot. Turns out malnourishment is a real thing. Microbiome went down the drain as well. No fiber no Phytochems literally no information from the food to the microbiome , no dice.
