long distance running and fasting. Previously done 20/4

Hi guys, for about 2 years I played with fasting. 16/8, one meal a day etc but mainly 20/4. Would train heavy weight training prior to ending my fast and.was 8% bodyfat. Looked good and felt good .

I then ruptured my bicep tendon, complete rupture and has been a year and still recovering. Due to this.weight training has changed to predominantly cardio, approximately 20 miles a week. My problem is I just cannot fast with this training, I am ravenous.

I love running first thing In the morning it’s great for my mental health, I know I am burning a lot of calories and this is what is causing the hunger. Just wondering does anyone else do Long distance running fasted and how do they plan there fast around it?

Answer

I have been running, trying to get over 16 miles a week every week this year, along with some more weights and body exercises (like the burpees). I had been on a 5 hour window but I had to open it up to a 6 hour window because I was getting so hungry. I run around 10:30, so in usually back home and back out of the shower at noon.
I get to eat plenty. But I am super hungry, like you say. I just eat.
