Long time faster, just finished my first 96 hour fast.

I fast 36 hours per week consistently (early dinner Sunday, late breakfast Tuesday). This has worked well for me and after getting used to them I find them easy.

The last few months I let myself go a little. I’m not overweight or anything but I felt I was losing discipline, so I decided to go on a longer fast.

Day 1 was easy, well used to the timeframe, so no issues. Day 2 became harder as my explosive strength was all but gone (I do manual work and on my feet 10 hours a day). By day three I was no longer feeling hunger pangs but missing the pleasure of eating a lot. I felt good but my outwardly appearance was pretty grumpy. Struggled with physical strength a bit but o major problems.

Now day 4 was a revelation. I woke up full of beans. More energy than I have had in months. I felt amazing all day, happy not to eat at all. My mood was happy and I felt light and strong.

Today I ate breakfast (steak tartare) as I wanted to be off work due to bad bowel behaviour after fasting but think that next time will push the fast to 5 or 6 days.

I have never considered electrolytes before as my fasts haven’t been that long, but this time around drank water with sea salt dissolved in a few times (is this enough? I felt like it helped a lot).

Whish me luck for my next one, perhaps in a week and a half.

Cheers!
