Been fasting on and off this past year but want to go on a 3 day water fast to kick start my weight loss journey. What are the best ways to prepare myself and what should I be looking forward to?
What is your diet like? If you’re eating a typical high carbohydrate diet, you will likely not have a good first day or two simply because you’ll be “withdrawing” (not technically, but the effect is just as unpleasant) from carbs and sugar, so be sure to get enough water and salt to minimize the symptoms. Those of us who are on a low carb/ketogenic diet have already gone through that and because our bodies are already adapted to using fat for fuel, the switch from using dietary fat to body fat is pretty effortless.
