I know dry fasting can cause rapid weight loss, would that lead to loose skin? Has anyone experienced it?
I think the one of the most attractive things for people who do dry or water fasting for weight loss is the hope that the autophagy part will help minimise loose skin afterwards. There is definitely some anecdotal that this does happen to some degree, but how much loose skin you have after losing a lot of weight is dependent on a lot of variables, including how much you have to lose and genetics.
However one thing that is important to understand, if you have loose skin, it isn’t the weight loss that made this happen, it is the being overweight part that stretched your skin in the first place. The weight loss just makes it more visible.
So if you have loose skin dry fasting the chances are you would have had loose skin on a standard CICO or low carb diet, losing 1lb a week over a year or two.
