Losing fat and Buidling muscle at the same time? Is it possible with IF?

Hi everybody,

I have been doing intermittent fasting for couple of months and I have lost a lot of weight. I also following protein diet mostly.

I want to build muscle too but keep losing fat. Do you think it is possible? I mean, while being in calorie deficit, eating enough protein and doing IF can I build up muscle with good amount of work out and get bigger?

Thank you

Answer

Technically yes. In practice no. Unless ur a beginner it’s much more productive to focus on one goal at a time. That does not mean u need to get crazy fat while building muscle. In fact, more muscle will actually improve how well u hold the fat u do have.

Answer

Eat around 1g of protein per POUND of body weight and stay just below your maintenance and stay consistent in the gym and you’ll see the results in the mirror overtime. The scale won’t move as much during this process and will actually see weight go up on the scale at times as muscle is more dense than fat. And right before the fat is burned from the fat cell it swells up with water before depleting the cell down which will cause wierd water weight fluctuations
