Losing inches but not weight

Hi guys! So I’ve been doing 16/8 for 4 weeks now. For context I’m F/27, 5’2 (157cm) and 75 kgs (165lbs). I haven’t lost any weight at all but I’ve lost almost 2 inches around my hips and an inch around my waist. I’m wondering if this is normal? The results so far are still good enough for me to keep doing this, but I’d like to know if I’m going wrong somewhere.

I don’t overeat/snack during my eating window and am pretty fastidious about clean fasting. I was thinking of incorporating yoga into my routine if that would help?

Have you started working out? If so, your muscles might be hanging on to some water as part of the repair process.

I used to have a scale that had to regularly be reset by having someone a very different weight than me step on it. It was pretty messed up.

What you’re experiencing isn’t consistent with my experience, but I can’t say if it is “normal” or not.

Answer

This is what happened to me when I first started fasting. Lost inches pretty quickly (especially where my abdominal fat is) but the scales didn’t budge until the 6-8 week mark. Keep at it!! You should notice the scales move soon, and in any case a decrease in measurements is definitely still a win.

Answer

My experience was similar. I lost a lot of inches overall, to the point where my clothes were falling off and people were commenting, but the scale wasn’t moving. I was slowly adding or extending activities throughout the day, but didnt realize how much faster or longer I was going until i started tracking.
